Yu Chocolatier draws its name from its founder and master chocolatier, Cheng Yu-Hsuan. The character 畬 Yu evokes the image of a fertile field cradled within the mountains, nurtured for years in quietude.

At Yu Chocolatier, taste is our dao, our guiding path. We are devoted to the alchemy of chocolate, weaving the pure essence of fine cacao with the diverse expressions of the terroir. Established in 2015, Yu Chocolatier serves as a confluence of heritages from multiple cultures. Honored by international accolades, we continue to wander and wonder, crafting a voice of our own for Taiwanese chocolate.

Fruit of the long passion of chef Yu Hsuan CHENG, Yu Chocolatier is undoubtedly one of the best artisanal chocolates in Taiwan.

Established in 2015, Yu Chocolatier has received numerous awards and honors, including being the first Taiwanese brand to exhibit at Salon du Chocolat Paris. He has been named Best Pastry Chef 2024 by Tatler Dining Awards, Gamechanging Producer by the 50 Next Awards (the World's 50 Best Restaurants) in 2022.

Inspirations of chef Yu derive from the orient and occident alike. He constantly explores the frontier of chocolate, and shapes the identity of Taiwanese chocolate through steady efforts in everyday practice.

At Yu Chocolatier, we seek for ultimate freshness and source the best produce. We work with French AOP certified dairy products, top quality chocolates of numerous origins, spirits from around the world, and fine Taiwanese ingredients such as teas, fruits, and spices.
